This is why I love Fort Boyard...

There is no way some wimpy US game show can compete with this show's, um, formidable attributes.

Chicken Dance!

I love the chicken dance! The last slow motion replay is the best one. I feel all warm and tingly inside when I watch it.

Now this is why I love boxing!

That was just the pre-fight, or what used to be called a press conference. The actual fight in the ring was pretty good too.

Mustaine to Hetfield: Suck it, you taliban-beard growing wuss!

Okay, that's not exactly what he said, but it's nice to see these two articles in the news on the same day. Getting kicked out of Metallica was definitely for the best. While Metallica does their best to imitate all the latest "cool bands," with lyrics about fast cars, hookers, and their group therapy sessions, Megadeth is still tough as nails, writing songs about the Oil for Food scandal. Even when Metallica was on their "deep lyrics" kick, they wrote songs about how crappy America was and how we were destroying "Mother Earth." Lame!

Metallica: Terrorist threat?

Metallica singer James Hetfield was investigated by UK airport officials who believed he was a terrorist this week, it has been claimed. The star was barred entry to Luton airport on Thursday and questioned by staff who were concerned about his appearance. Fears that Hetfield might be involved in terrorism were apparently founded on his "Taliban-like beard", according to The Times.  (Actually, I think it's because of his crappy music.)

He was allowed to leave the airport after a brief interrogation, when he persuaded officials that he was a rock star. (How did he do that, open his luggage and show them his stash of booze and drugs? Oh wait, he's supposed to be sober now. I guess he just acted like a prima donna and started whining.)

Which one is OBL?

Really? $25,000?

So this 18-year-old girl decides to go on the internet and auction off her hymen for 25 grand. No seriously, who on earth would pay that much money to do it with a virgin?

Supposedly the virgin part is the reason for the premium but still, aren't inexperienced people normally lousy in bed? And $25000, for that much money you could get 100 really great hookers, or 1000 really cheap ones. Or a car. Still, if that skank Demi Moore could get a cool mil for one night, it can't be too unreasonable to assume a teen could get .025% of that.

Asked by a reporter how she could prove she was a virgin and not just some overpriced prostitute, she replied, "I don't know how to prove to you that I'm a virgin. You'll have to trust me." Riiiiiiight. You wouldn't expect me to put down 25 grand for a car and not take it out for a test drive first, or at least kick the tires a few times.

Robert Doisneau DVD

Just watched this DVD tonight, Robert Doisneau Tout Simplement. Lots of great photographs from Doisneau, shown slideshow style, while in the background you hear Doisneau's commentary on some of the pictures and topics.

My favorite section was when he discussed some of the pictures he took during the liberation of Paris. And also the two days he spent photographing Picasso. Great stuff, maybe I'll post a teaser on YouTube and link to it here.

I would put up some of his pictures of the liberation of Paris, but whenever I type liberation + Paris into Google, I just get links to Paris Hilton getting out of jail. What's up with that?

But there's no point in a post about Doisneau without one of his photos, so here's one of his Picasso pics.

Now that's comedy!

I'm very entertained by this video, and I'm not sure why. Sure, it looks sloppy and poorly put together. But I guess that's part of its charm. The fact that the creators view their Dem heroes as some kind of Spartan warriors (with the exception of poor Mrs. Clinton) is silly, but what's revealing is that the Persian enemies here are Republicans.

Forget about North Korea, Iran, the Taliban, al-Qaeda, or really anyone other than Republicans. Can't say I'm surprised, because I'm not. The left has been saying for years that the right is the real enemy, and once a Dem is back in the White House, all of our problems will wilt before their might. <snort>

Je pense que c'est possible...

Et moi, je pense que c'est possible que t'es une vraie connasse (je ne te dis pas que j’adhère à cette posture, mais je m’interroge quand même un petit peu sur cette question).

Racist cartoon clip

Just how many cartoons like this are out there? A quick search on YouTube turns up more than a few. Even Bugs Bunny got in on the act. While stuff like this still gets into cartoons today, it is done as satire rather than an ignorant stereotype. In America, I mean. In France, this sort of stuff is still fairly commonplace, and by extension, acceptable.

What is porn?

Hmm, Allah seems to think a few clips from Amélie seem to constitute soft core pornography, and in fact "it ain't really that soft." Now I understand those scenes shouldn't be taken by themselves and shown to the general public as a promo, but still... borderline hard core porn?
